ACC Center for Personal
and Professional Development
Workshop -
ServSafe Food Safety Certification
Does your food service operation meet the new New York State mandated "ServSafe"
requirement effective September 1, 2008?
Beginning in September 2008, recently
passed New York State legislation (S02328) mandates that all food service establishments which handle, cook,
store, serve, deliver, remove, and dispose of food will be required to have one ServSafe certified individual on
staff.
In order to assist the area’s hospitality
and food service industries comply with this law, the ACC Center for Personal and Professional Development, in
conjunction with the National Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation, has scheduled ServSafe
Food Safety workshops which will provide this mandatory certification to individuals
who successfully complete the 9-hour program. Once issued, certification is valid for 5 years.

Washington County's
Economic Development Strategic Plan
An Economic Development Strategic
Plan is a written document that through analysis of a community’s historic
and existing economic profile, its local and regional market conditions, and
its strategic positioning to take on new economic roles, lays the groundwork
for economic revitalization. An Economic Development Strategic Plan identifies
the goals and strategies by which a community looks to achieve not only
sustainable economic viability in a competitive regional market, but also
economic growth to meet the future needs of its residents and businesses.
This Economic Development
Strategic Plan, focusing on the local and regional economic climate and will
act as a guide or “blueprint” for the future of Washington County. This
document includes detailed overviews of the County’s major economic sectors,
provides a regional context for these industries, and seeks to identify issues
and opportunities related to each one. Finally, this Economic Development
Strategic Plan outlines an implementation strategy designed to achieve the
Plan’s goals.

Intercity
Visit Hillsboro Oregon
April 28 – May 2, 2007
A 19-member delegation with participants from
Washington, Warren and Saratoga Counties traveled to Hillsboro, Oregon. This
Intercity Visit was inspiring, motivational, informative, and well worth the
time and effort. We are deeply appreciative of the incredible time and talents
put forth by Deanna Palm, President of the Greater Hillsboro Chamber of
Commerce, Hillsboro Mayor Tom Hughes, and Julie Nix from the City’s Economic
Development Office to make this Intercity Visit both possible and highly
productive. Below is a Microsoft Power Point slide show of the facts and key
findings.
